As pastoral leaders you are navigating unchartered waters, learning new and virtual ways of being church for your congregations and your community. We recognize that your own professional development may be focused on leading differently today. However, you still need the competencies provided through the Nonprofit Church Leadership certificate program as we move through and past the impact COVID-19 will have on our individual and collective lives. More than ever we encourage you to strongly consider applying for the NPCL as part of your essential leadership development. We have made three adjustments to the NPCL to give you time and space to pursue this opportunity.

1. The Nonprofit Church Leadership certificate program application deadline has been extended to May 15 to allow you more time to apply.
2. The expected contribution from the pastor and church combined has been reduced to $1000 from $2000. The pastor is asked to contribute $250 and the church, $750. (Please note: If you anticipate any problem meeting this financial commitment, we will be flexible. Do not let this be the barrier to participation.) The Leadership Team endorsement is still required but in the absence of a formal meeting, it is sufficient for the Leadership Team chair to obtain the support through email or phone calls.
3.  The NPCL is an online program even now! Should it be necessary, Dakota Wesleyan University is fully prepared to adjust and adapt the three cohort gatherings to a virtual format.

The NPCL application and Leadership Endorsement form have been updated to reflect these changes.
