Ask Luke 11:9-10

Have you ever been afraid to ask for something? Maybe there’s a friendly guy in your geometry class you would love to ask to the dance. Maybe you’re six months into your job as a sandwich artist at Subway and you want to ask for a raise. Sometimes asking induces fear, nervousness, and a whole lot of sweat.

Sometimes we are even afraid to ask God questions. We are scared our questions are too big or too small. We start to believe God can only be approached with an exclamation point faith, when in reality God also welcomes question marks, periods, and commas.

God loves each of us in particular. After all, God knows how many hairs are on our heads. Even when we are afraid — even when the question seems too big or too small — God wants to hear from us. God wants us to ask. A wise friend taught me that God is bigger than all our questions.

Go to God with questions. Don’t be afraid to ask.
