Talk to any junior and high school student about why they do anything and you will likely find out that connecting with friends is extremely important to them.  That is true for long time relationships and meeting new people. 

Social media is about making connections.  Messages range from seeking approval of a new hairstyle to seeking advice in a difficult situation.  Students gain an education in school, but they work through who they are and who they are becoming with a group of people whose opinion is very important to them. 

Youth group, confirmation classes, youth Sunday school, and even worship can be important to the developmental process for youth. These opportunities offer young people a safe situation to explore with others. These groups are a place where youth can explore their faith journey.  It is an opportunity to encounter the One, who is the author of their lives - a place where youth can experience God as one of the most loyal and encouraging friend that they will ever know. 

The Conference Council on Youth Ministries invites you and all of your youth and potential youth to come to Aberdeen for an amazing event this November.  Youth will grow in relationship with current friends and new friends from all over North and South Dakota.  Youth will encounter Christ in worship and Small Group studies.  Youth will discover that their faith journey is central to who they are and who they are becoming.  DakYouth 15 offers live music, powerful worship, laughter, and self-reflection.  Don’t miss it!
