NASHVILLE, TENNESEE -- Dr. and Mrs. Rick and LaRayne Wahlstrom, Brookings UMC recieved the Drum Award.  The Drum Award is Africa University’s (AU) highest accolade.  It recognizes the contributions of persons who are long-standing supporters and highly effective networkers for the institution.

“To come and be part of an event like this is heartwarming,” said Mrs. Wahlstrom. “It always makes you feel that you can do and give a little more. Why stop now?”

Mrs. Wahlstrom is founding member of the AU Advisory Development Committee and has provided stellar leadership to Africa University’s efforts to make friends and raise funds in the Dakotas Conference and beyond.  Mrs. Wahlstrom led Volunteer in Mission work teams to Africa University in Zimbabwe, along with her husband Dr. Rick Wahlstrom, in 1997 and 2000.
