Linton United Methodist Church has an average worship attendance of 42. The town of 1,000 people is the county seat and is located in south central North Dakota. Fishing is a huge attraction for the Linton area.

Every year members of the church have a fishing day at the Missouri River. The first weekend of June there is free fishing in North Dakota; no license is required. So, Linton UMC invites people to come to the river and fish.

"It is a great outreach activity for our church," said Pastor Marlin Sapp, who serves Linton UMC. "Anybody can come, you don't have to be a member. We just have a great time."

This year when group was preparing for the fishing day, Pastor Marlin found out that a father and his two boys didn’t have fishing equipment. A member of Linton UMC decided to buy fishing equipment for the family.

"It's great to see people helping each other out," said Pastor Marlin. "We have a wonderful time and we want anyone to join us."
