Scott Gilpin is the Executive Director for Fund Development for Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church joining the organization in October, 2011 as its primary fundraiser and advancement officer.  Scott leads those philanthropic endeavors to fund mission expansion while providing direction on mission clarification, strategic planning, volunteer support, constituent relations and stewardship.   Scott has served over forty educational and social service organizations in Great Britain, Africa and the United States including the boards of the United Methodist Global Health Initiative and its Imagine No Malaria Campaign, Wesley-Rankin Community Center of West Dallas, University of Alabama Medical School Comprehensive Center for Healthy Aging, Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Sumatanga United Methodist Camp and Conference Center, Loyola College Preparatory School, Louisiana Military Affairs Council, and Family Counseling and Children’s Services.  He co-founded a ministry in Kenya that provides jobs through the production of hand-tied flies for trout and salmon fishing that are marketed around the world.
