RAPID CITY -- Haiti Solar Oven Partners (HSOP) Strategic Fund Raising Retreat was held October 26-27, 2012 in the beautiful, new Gist Lodge at Storm Mountain Center. HSOP Advisory Board members and other committed Partners attended the Retreat.

Sessions were held Friday night and all day Saturday. Under the professional leadership of Dr. Curt Voight from Rapid City,  HSOP adopted the following Mission Statement.  The next fiscal year HSOP will provide 2,280 units to Haitian families participating in training and ownership of a solar oven.

The retreat involved planning for the implementation and funding of the expanded project.

Karen Workman, board member of the Haiti Solar Oven Project stated, “Our Partners are grateful to Scott Jensen, Storm Mountain’s Site Director, for his gracious hospitality. The Saturday early risers met Scott at 7 a.m. for a tour of the Storm Mountain campsite before a hot, delicious breakfast served in Allison Hall.”
