What do you do on the first day of spring in Watford City, North Dakota? Celebrate in fellowship with a spaghetti feed. Over 200 people gathered at the Civic Center in Watford City to eat spaghetti, have conversation, be encouraged and experience the love of God.

Jim and Kathie Konsor serve as missionaries for the Bakken Oil Rush Ministry in Watford City.  For the past 19 months they have been reaching out to those who need the basics, as well as those in need of connection.  Konsors operate a Free Mobile Thrift Store.  The Thrift Store distibutes clothing and small household items to the growing population in the Bakken Oil Regions.

The ministry is about so much more than the Thrift Store.  Fellowship and small group gatherings are held to encourage people to connect to one another in a positive way.  "There are so many people here who are just lonely," stated Jim Konsor.  "We want to show them the love of Christ in whatever way we can," said Kathie Konsor.

This past week a meal of spagetti, salad and desserts was prepared by 23 volunteers. Volunteers were folks who have helped at the Thrift Store or just have a desire to reach out to others.  

The event promoted lots of interaction between people who have been clients at the Thrift Store, single people who came to Watford City to work in the oil industry and people who have lived in Watford City all of their lives.  Folks that attended were able to pick up bibles, devotionals and other information about the Bakken Oil Rush Ministry.  People could also sign up for small group.

Children that attended the spaghettif feed could have thier photo taken in the kids zone.  There was also a movie and coloring books for kids to enjoy.  The kids zone actiivites gave parents more time to visit and enjoy the evening. 

"It was a terrific evening and many new connections and friendships were formed. Encouraging and loving people in the name of Christ, that’s our mission," said Jim and Kathie Konsor.
