Dog-Eared Disciples | Beginning October 3
Dog-Eared Disciples is an invitation to read our way more deeply into the life of faith. Drawing on the ancient Christian practice of lectio divina, we will approach books not simply for information, but for formation: reading slowly and attentively, listening for what stirs, challenges, unsettles, or invites us, and allowing what we encounter on the page to deepen our relationship with God, one another, and the world. This month we begin with "An Altar in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor. Register today for this book study initiative from Bishop Lanette Plambeck that will take place online Fall 2026-Spring 2027.

Laity Sunday Resources | October 18
Laity Sunday Heritage Sunday is one of five Awareness Special Sundays that highlight ministries and causes important to the entire United Methodist Church. On this day, we celebrate the vital role of lay people—the everyday members who live out their faith and serve in their local churches and communities. The day honors the faithfulness, leadership, and service of laypersons who help build and sustain the life and mission of the church. It recognizes that ministry is not just the work of clergy but the shared calling of all believers. Laity Sunday matters because it lifts up the essential role of laypersons in the life of the church and the world. From teaching and caregiving to advocacy, outreach, and worship leadership, laypeople are the hands and feet of Christ in every setting. Check out resources for Laity Sunday here.
