Rev. Dr. Joel Allen, Dakota Wesleyan University, invites all United Methodists in the Dakotas to join  in Praying our Way Forward this week August 20-26, 2017. 

On this day after the eclipse, help us as Jesus’ disciples to shine the more brightly. In darkness, make us light. In gloom, grant joy. Let us bear witness to healing hope even in racial turmoil and strife. Make us more than tolerant. Help us to feel deeply our need of those with whom we disagree so strongly. May the chaos of our time be what we need that shakes us from our complacency. Free us from the heresy of schism that would blind our eyes and confuse us so we come to believe that separation is your solution. Be our true peace, our true shalom.
