Dear God, we thank you for the privilege we have to be your disciples as laity and clergy in The United Methodist Church.

We acknowledge that this is a challenging time in our denomination, as we await the opportunity to gather as a General Conference to make important decisions about our future.

In the midst of our impatience to move forward, may we listen to your still small voice of encouragement, reassurance, and hope. May we focus on our call to embody Christ’s love in our ministry settings and make a difference in our local communities.

And may we reach out to a hurting world, knowing that you hold the future and that the Holy Spirit goes ahead of us to prepare the way.

We pray in the name of Jesus, the Waymaker.
