Four Pre-Conference Gatherings were held virtually in preparation for the 2023 Dakotas Annual Conference on June 8-10, 2023, at the Convention Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The sessions highlighted several items of business to be voted on at the 30th Session of the Dakotas Annual Conference, including the 2024 Budget Proposal.
Six other legislative items will be considered. Item 1.2 is a resolution to encourage churches to form Green Teams. Item 1.3 is a resolution to create a Non-Permanent Standing Committee on Disability Concerns and Ministry. Proposed changes to the clergy leave policies are detailed in Item 1.4. The Committee on Nominations is requesting to suspend Rules 6.2. and 6.3. Item 1.6 is a request for a November Special Session, and Item 1.7 is a proposal to add language to the Board of Pensions policies related to retirees and their surviving spouses.
The body will also approve organizational resolutions, and a consent calendar, and receive reports.
