Interfaith Day 2022 | January 13 in Pierre, SD
    On Thursday, January 13, 2022, the South Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota will be hosting the Fifth Annual Interfaith Day at the State Capitol in Pierre for the start of the 2022 Legislative Session. Join with faith leaders for a day at the Capitol as we stand in solidarity and pray for peace for everyone who calls South Dakota home. More information here.

Winter Connection | CANCELED
Due to the surge in the COVID-19 Omicron variant and the recent increases in hospitalizations across North Dakota and South Dakota, CCYM feels the safest course is to cancel 2022 Winter Connection. Anyone who has already registered will receive a refund.

SPRC/PPRC Training | Feb. 7 or 8, 6:30-8:30 CT
    We invite the members of Pastor Parish Relationship committee to join the Dakotas Cabinet in a virtual Pastor Parish Relations Committee (S/PPRC) training event on the evenings of Monday February 7th or Tuesday, February 8th. Church receives bomb threat | Bishop Haller offers prayer
Des Moines Burns UMCBurns United Methodist Church, a historically Black church in DesMoines, Iowa, was threatened by an anonymous phone caller claiming bombs were planted in the building. The church conducted only online services Jan. 9 because of the threat. No bombs were found. Bishop Laurie Haller called for prayer for the congregation and its pastor. Read story and watch video.

    The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) is accepting scholarship applications for the 2022-2023 academic year between January 1 – March 1, 2022. Students who are members of The United Methodist Church and planning to attend a United Methodist-related school, college, university, or seminary full-time are eligible to apply.
